Trip Trajectory (clockwise):
______________
A few statistics:
Interesting people encountered:
- "Frank": the man at a pub who gave us weird directions in order to get to our first hotel, who turned out to be frightfully accurate.
- "Crazy hobo lady": Old lady with bags in her hands that stood next to us for about 5 minutes, then shouted: 'WHAT TIME IS IT? WHAT DAY IS IT?' and then immediately jaywalked across the street.
- "Bearded lady": Bystander we asked for directions to the vineyard, who proceeded to tell us her life story.
- "Lady who should not be a mother" : Saggy-looking woman who had a drink in her hand and a baby in the other, and asked us where the casino is.
- "Old bearded man": An old drunk chap who, as we walked by, whispered in a coarse, rugged voice "Wanna hear a story?" with a British accent. Sadly, we said no. This was the only regret of our trip.
Oddly-shaped/incomplete buildings that looked like they were poorly financed by our professor, Philippe-Henri Latimier:
- Half-bridge at Chaumont-sur-Loire: stopped at around 2% of its intended length.
- Administration office at Chinon Fortress: Ran out of bricks
- Discontinued bridge between St-Nazaire and Quiberon: Got replaced by bigger, better bridge.
Buildings that would make awesome Unreal Tournament maps:
- Any of Chambord, Chenonceaux, Cheverny, Chaumont-sur-Loire, Amboise, or Chinon castles:
- Mont Saint-Michel dungeon
